The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program, referred to as PEI PNP, is also known as PEI Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee.

PEI Provincial Nominee Program Key Worker Category

This category is for applicants who are currently working for a PEI employer on a valid work permit and whose occupation falls under NOC Category C or D. Applicants who meet the application conditions can submit an EOI to PEI PNP, and PEI will invite applicants to apply for provincial nomination based on the principle of high scores.

Application Requirements

  • Hold a long-term (permanent or at least 2 years) full-time job offer from a PEI employer in an occupation classified as NOC C or D;
  • have worked full-time for a PEI employer for at least six months;
  • hold a valid work permit and have legal status in Canada;
  • Have at least a high school diploma; between the ages of 18-59;
  • Between the ages of 18-59;
  • At least 2 years of full-time work experience or relevant education in the past 5 years;
  • Be able to provide valid language scores within the last two years, with CLB4 in IELTS and NCLC4 in French;
  • Have sufficient funds for the whole family to immigrate and settle in PEI;

Note:

  • [7511]From 19 August 2021, applicants with occupation as NOC [7511] are required to have at least 12 months of work experience as a long-haul truck driver, and the job offer must come from a qualified PEI employer.
  • As of June 2019, the PEI PNP key worker category is available for talent acquisition outside of PEI. Only applicants in occupational C occupations working in the priority employment sectors specified by PEI will be approved. These occupational C occupation applicants must have six months of Canadian work experience supported by the LMIA in an occupation that is related to the job offer obtained at PEI.


PEI Skilled Worker Category of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program

Applicants who meet the application conditions can submit an EOI to PEI PNP, and PEI will invite applicants to apply for provincial nomination based on the principle of high scores.

Application Requirements

  • Hold a long-term (permanent or at least 2 years) full-time job offer from a PEI employer, and the occupation falls under NOC 0, A, B categories;

  • Have sufficient funds for the whole family to immigrate and settle in PEI;

Note: The Skilled Worker category can also be used to recruit talent from outside Canada if the PEI employer is approved by USCIS before issuing the job offer.



Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program International Student Category

This category is for applicants who graduated from PEI higher education institutions. Applicants who meet the application conditions can submit an EOI to PEI PNP, and PEI will invite applicants to apply for provincial nomination based on the principle of high scores.

  • Hold a long-term (permanent or at least 2 years) full-time job offer from a PEI employer, and the occupation falls under NOC 0, A, B categories;
  • Hold a valid Graduate Work Permit and have legal status in Canada;
  • If necessary, be able to attend an interview with the immigration office;
  • Completion of a PEI higher education program with a degree or diploma;
  • Between the ages of 18-59;
  • Ability to work in English and/or French;
  • Have sufficient funds for the whole family to immigrate and settle in PEI;
  • Demonstrate a genuine desire to make a home in PEI.


Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program EE Category

This category is divided into two pathways according to whether the applicant has a job offer. PEI PNP will give priority to applicants who are currently living and working in PEI.

Applicants who meet the application conditions can submit an EOI to PEI PNP, and PEI will invite applicants to apply for provincial nomination based on the principle of high scores.

Application Requirements

  • Meet any of the application requirements for Canadian federal skilled immigration, federal skilled worker immigration or experience-based immigration;
  • Create EE and enter the candidate pool;
  • Graduate work permit holders who graduated from provinces other than PEI must have worked for the PEI employer for at least nine months prior to submitting the EOI application, and their graduate work permit must be valid for at least four months at the time of submitting the EOI.

Note: PEI restricts applications for certain occupations due to the high number of postgraduate work permit holders from other provinces.

Employer Requirements for PEI Provincial Nominee Program

It is the responsibility of the PEI employer to complete the PEIW-02: PEI Employee Employment Form and confirm that the following requirements are met:

  • The company has been actively operating under existing ownership/management in PEI for at least two years and has a workforce gap;
  • Provide evidence that the recruitment for the intended occupation was unsuccessful in Canada and that the position is essential to the operation of the company;
  • The job is full-time, non-seasonal, with a contract for a permanent or at least 2-year position;
  • Employment in the intended occupation is consistent with the applicant’s ability to work, based on the applicant’s education, training and/or experience;
  • Terms and conditions of employment comply with all applicable provincial and federal workplace standards for employment and comparable industry wage rates;
  • The applicant’s employment does not violate an existing bargaining unit agreement or employment dispute;
  • Work locally in Prince Edward Island;
  • The job requiring provincial licensing or certification has been verified to ensure that the applicant has the qualifications required to pursue the occupation at PEI;
  • Provide a signed employment contract that includes the terms and conditions of full-time employment;
  • Where applicable, provide settlement support to applicants and their families to help them settle in PEI;
  • Provide a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) if applicable.

Note: If the foreign worker requires a work permit, or the current work permit may expire prior to obtaining the PR, the employer must be willing to register on the federal employer website and pay the $320 employer compliance fee.

PEI PNP Non-EE Category EOI Scoring Criteria

In the EOI system, it is divided into six major items. The maximum score is 100 points. USCIS reserves the right to change screening criteria and scores at any time.
